It can feel wild to accept a gift that is both extremely expensive and material. Accepting a check made out to you for $10,000 is one of the easiest things you can do, but when you know that someone actually decided to exchange $10,000 cash for a non-practical material object for you and you alone, it can really show you how different your spending habits and lifestyles are. I cannot imagine anyone spending thousands of dollars on an item of clothing for me, especially without a gift receipt or without asking what I like first.
