When you're a kid, it's hard to know whether your parents are unusually crazy. Your home is usually all you know, and going over to friends' houses doesn't always paint a realistic picture of how they're normally treated. You might've felt something off about your parents and later found out there actually was something nefarious simmering under the surface. Maybe you were the little boy in the movie Parents who had a suspicion that the meaty meals your mother was preparing were actually made of human flesh, but you didn't have the evidence for it until your guidance counselor became one of said meals. Your childhood probably wasn't as screwed up as that kid's, but who knows! The point is, once we become adults (or blow up our parent's house because they're cannibals), we can finally get some perspective on our childhoods. If you want to get some perspective on someone else's childhood, these parenting texts are here for you.
