If you could choose between spending Christmas with your family and spending Christmas with your friends, which would you have preferred?

In most TV shows, it seems like the characters are never too keen to spend Christmas with their actual families, and always find themselves celebrating the holidays with their chosen family instead, meaning their friends. In Friends, even though they all have mostly functional families, they never seem to want to celebrate Christmas with them, and the gang is always together during the festive season. That made me think, if I had a group of close friends like this one, would I have skipped Christmas dinner with my family just so I could hang out with them?

As much as I love my family, it does sound pretty cool to get to have this special dinner with people who I choose to call family. Maybe not every year, but I definitely wouldn't mind trying that out once or twice.
