For many of us, the Disney and Pixar animation studios are inextricably linked. There was never a time in my memory when Pixar was its own entity completely separate from Disney, but the studios almost parted ways in the 2000s. Pixar CEO Steve Jobs did not like Disney CEO Michael Eisner and his insulting comments about Apple promoting online piracy in their advertisements (Specifically in Apple's 'Rip.Mix.Burn' campaign), and negotiations for a new agreement between the two companies ceased in 2004. In 2005, Eisner was ousted as CEO, and in 2006, Disney bought Pixar for a whopping sum of 7.4 billion dollars.
It's strange to think about if Disney and Pixar had parted ways. Would Pixar have been able to accomplish all they've accomplished in the past 20 years without the help of Disney, or would they be better off without the mouse? If you are glad these two studios ultimately stuck together, these Disney memes are for you.
