Star Trek: Section 31 is coming out in January, and if you know anything about January releases, you know what that means. It's probably not going to be in contention for any Oscars, nor could it be, because it's getting released on Paramount+. The intersection of made-for-streaming movies and early-year releases proves that nobody wants this movie to be seen that badly, which is unfortunate. At any other time in the past 50 years, it would be unconscionable for a Star Trek movie to be denied a theatrical release in favor of made-for-TV slop that will be forgotten before it's even put out, but that's show business. It's been nearly a decade since the last Star Trek movie was in theatres, and if Paramount+ is going to survive, they're going to keep it that way. If you wish Star Trek: Section 31 was going to theaters, these Star Trek memes are for you.
