A few days ago, I attended a briefing from Supercell and Apple showcasing Squad Busters ahead of its global launch next month. The event also had the confirmation that Squad Busters will be releasing globally on May 29th. It is available as a soft launch in Canada, Mexico, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Singapore as of now. Squad Busters is Supercellâs first new global release in more than five years, and it brings together characters from Supercellâs other games including Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Hay Day, and more in 10 person multiplayer gameplay. Squad Busters has players building squads during four minute matches grabbing gems and evolving characters across their classic and super forms. Supercell told me that the game has been optimized for even older devices, but the team might look into adding 120fps support for newer iPhone and iPad models. Watch the Squad Busters launch animation and the latest gameplay showcase below:
Supercell is taking Squad Busters global after multiple rounds of positive feedback from players across the regions it is available to test in right now. At launch, Squad Busters will ship with more than 25 characters and it will include custom room support. Iâm curious to see how it feels on modern iOS devices and how it is for newcomers to the Supercell games. Supercell also told me that pre-registering for Squad Busters will include some rewards for other games. If youâd like to play Squad Busters at launch, you can pre-order it on the App Store for iOS here and pre-register for it on Google Play for Android here. It includes various in app purchases of gold and season pass bundles. The Squad Busters download size on the App Store is listed as just under 530MB right now. What do you think of Squad Busters so far and will you be trying it through its soft launch or global release next month?
