Why do people call Thursday "Friday Junior?" I was unaware of this phenomenon until I entered the 9-5 workforce, and I find it cutesy at best and confusing at worst. One of my friends once got into an incredibly sticky situation because of this phrase. Her coworker, who has the same name as her, said, "Happy Friday Junior, Hannah." Ignorant of the phrase's meaning, she said, "Happy Friday, Senior Hannah." Quickly, she realized it was not, in fact, Friday and figured out the error of her ways. Not only did she call someone who was only a couple of years older than her "Senior Hannah," but she started adopting the phrase "Friday Jr." in earnest: I can't tell which one is worse.
If we're going to call Thursday "Friday Jr," why stop there? Why can't we call Wednesday, Friday Jr Jr? Or Tuesday Friday Jr Jr Jr? If you don't care what day of the week it is and simply want some memes, it's time to scroll down!
