When you live with other people, you often have to ask yourself, "How much responsibility should I take for their mess?" Some people think that they should only clean up after themselves and that doing any dishes more than what they dirty is an affront to their personal liberty. In my opinion, most households only function if everyone does a little bit for everyone else. If someone is slacking on dishes one week, their roommates can help them out at that moment, knowing that they'll compensate by helping them if they're ever having a similar bad week. It only really starts to become a problem when everyone slacks simultaneously or if one person slacks so much and refuses to clean up after themselves, even after being repeatedly asked to do so. This situation is the latter. After weeks of asking her roommate to clean up after her gross rice cooker, this University freshman decided to throw away all of her moldy food that's been infesting the fridge.
