I will forever be the biggest defender of thinking and writing about memes. While it's true that on the surface they're simply tiny pieces of nonsense humor, the way in which they are constructed can tell us all sorts of things about art, society, and life in general. That's pretty cool, and even as a casual consumer, it's worth thinking about it occasionally. The number one purpose of memes will always be entertainment, but sometimes part of the fun is deciphering the intentions and subconscious thoughts behind that. We like getting pretentious here, OK? So, as you scroll onward for your easy amusement, take a moment to think more deeply about what it all might mean. The answer may be 'nothing', but at least you kind of put your brain to work during an otherwise thought-numbing exercise. It's almost like doing a form of self-improvement, but for really lazy people.
