It's fun to pretend you're somebody else, like a powerful paladin or a spell-casting wizard. I wish I could cast spells in real life. I could fold my laundry with a flick of my wrist. Or skip the line at the amusement park. Or cast an indigestion spell on a nosy coworker. We need more mundane magic like that. Though casting fireballs and bringing people back to life is pretty cool too.
