Waking up in the morning to the news of a snow day, or better yet, finding out right before you go to sleep the night before, is one of the top feelings in the world. You're filled with a rush of possibility. A world of opportunities opens before you, now that you don't have to go to school. You can sleep in and drink hot chocolate in the morning. You can build a snowman and try to bring it to life with one of your mother's scarves. You can make snow ice cream (a simple combination of clean snow and sweetened condensed milk). You can curl up by the fire and watch the Rudolph movie. Your education can wait. Today is about enjoying the powdery white landscape.
Snow days don't really exist when you're an adult, but we can bring that energy into our every day lives anyways. We can take a storage container top and sled down the local hill. Nobody is stopping us.
