Reviews are an interesting thing, we rely on them to know what's good and what's not, and yet most of us do not leave them ourselves. So in reality, we're relying on a small cabal of keyboard-happy review wizards with strong opinions. But do we trust those people? Is there a bias that review-leaves have that the rest of us do not share? We might just be flying blind, trusting the opinions of others without question, doomed to repeat the mistakes of those before us.
But a needed respite from this is the funny review. Will it tell us anything worthwhile about the product, in this case, a video game? Most likely not. But will it make us chuckle momentarily while we're browsing? Absolutely. And gamers are nothing if not humorists in disguise. This is what brings us to funny Steam reviews. Who knows, maybe they'll even inspire us to download the game.
