There is so much pointless discourse about the difference between breastfeeding and formula-feeding your baby. It seems pointless to me because how you feed your baby doesn't have much impact on whether they grow up to be a doctor or a serial killer. It's true that breastfed babies get different nutrients and bond with their mothers differently than formula-fed babies, but that doesn't mean formula is inherently harmful. Whether you believe "breast is best" or "fed is best" for you and your baby, you don't really have a leg to stand on when judging others for how they choose to feed their infants. So many factors could make someone choose one or the other, and it's really none of your business anyway. That's why it's so infuriating that the young mother in this story was disrespected and violated for giving her baby some of the most expensive formulas on the market.
